Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology (SLIET) is a Deemed-to-be-University and a national level Institute established by Government of India through Ministry of Human Resource Development. The Institute offers unique modular pattern of education in various branches of Engineering, Technology & Sciences. Applications on prescribed from are invited for admission to M.Sc. and Ph.D. Programmes through a National Level Test called SLIET Entrance Test (SET), to be conducted on 26th June, 2011 at SLIET, Longowal. Courses Offered
M.Sc. Programmes (SET-VII)
Duration: 2years (Full Time Course)
Disciplines available: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
Eligibility: 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories) in the aggregate in qualifying examination as mentioned hereunder:
(i) M.Sc. (Physics): Recognized Bachelor’s Degree with Physics as main subject.
(ii) M.Sc. (Chemistry): Recognized Bachelor’s Degree with Chemistry as main subject.
(iii) M.Sc. (Mathematics): Recognized Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.Sc.) with Mathematics
Ph.D. Programmes (SET-VIII)
Eligibility: Master’s Degree in Engineering / Technology / Science / Humanities / Management with 55% of marks (50% for SC/ST).Available Departments are:
Chemical Technology, Food Engg. & Tech., Chemistry, Management, Computer Sc. & Engg., Mathematics, Electrical & Instrumentation Engg., Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Comm. Engg., Physics, English
Seats in above departments are available on:
Full Time (with Fellowship), Part Time, Full Time (without fellowship)
Note: Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination can also apply.
Statutory Reservations (in all above programmes): 15% for Schedule Castes, 7.5% for Schedule Tribes, 3% for Physically Handicapped and 27% for Other Backward Classes (non-creamy layer). Latest Instructions of Government of India shall apply for statutory Reservations at the time of admission.
Application form, examination fee and Last date: The Brochure containing information about the Institute, syllabi for Entrance Test for different programmes and application form for Entrance Test may be downloaded from Institute website www.sliet.ac.in The complete application form along with examination fee of Rs. 600/- (Rs. 300/- for (SC/ST) (in the form of Bank Demand Draft or Cash receipt of institute should be sent to the Chairman, SET-2011.
